Some businesses start with a business plan. Crystal Seahorse Jewellery started with a syringe, a sleeping baby, and a mother who refused to fall apart.
The Beginning
When my daughter was born, life didn't go the way I'd imagined. She was very sick — diagnosed with a heart murmur, she needed diuretics regularly and had to be fed from a syringe, just 1ml at a time, every two hours around the clock.
Sleep wasn't really an option. Worry was constant. But in those quiet, exhausting hours while she slept, I needed something to do with my hands — something to focus on that wasn't fear.
So I taught myself to make jewellery.
I learned what polymer clay was. I figured out jump rings, chain, findings. I watched tutorials at 3am and practised until my hands knew what to do without thinking. It became my anchor — something I could control when everything else felt uncertain.
When my daughter was one year old, she had open heart surgery to repair the hole in her heart.
She came through it beautifully.
Growing Together
As she grew stronger, we crafted together. What had started as a way to survive sleepless nights became something we shared — a creative language between a mother and her daughter.
I made pieces for family. For friends. For anyone who admired something I'd created. And slowly, over many years of making, I got good. Really good.
A few years ago, after creating for longer than I can count, I felt ready. Ready to share what I made with the world. Ready to build something of my own.
Crystal Seahorse Jewellery was born.
What We Make & Why It Matters
At Crystal Seahorse, I make handmade jewellery that's a little bit different. Fun, whimsical, joyful pieces — from real pressed flower necklaces and resin crystal pendants to kawaii polymer clay earrings and miniature food jewellery that makes people smile the moment they see it.

Every piece is made by hand, in small batches, right here in the UK.
But more than the materials or the techniques, what I care about most is how a piece makes you feel. I want you to pick something up and think — that's me. I want jewellery to feel like self-expression, not just decoration. Whether that's a delicate forget-me-not pendant that carries meaning, or a tiny fried egg earring that makes you laugh — if it feels like you, that's exactly what it's for.
Handmade With Intention
Mass-produced jewellery is everywhere. But there's something different about wearing a piece that someone made with their hands — that took time, care, and skill to create.
When you shop at Crystal Seahorse, you're not buying from a factory. You're buying something made by a real person, with a real story, who genuinely loves what she makes.
That matters. And I think you can feel it.
