Caring for Your Crystal Seahorse Jewellery

At Crystal Seahorse Jewellery, every piece is lovingly handmade using polymer clay and resin. With a little care, your jewellery will stay beautiful for years to come.

Keep it dry

Avoid wearing your jewellery in water — this includes swimming, bathing, washing up, and exercising. Moisture can affect the finish and findings over time. Remove your pieces before contact with water.

Keep it away from products

Perfume, hairspray, lotions, and cleaning products can all dull or damage polymer clay and resin. Always put your jewellery on last, after applying any sprays or creams.

Store it safely

Store your pieces in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. UV exposure can cause colours to fade over time. A soft pouch, jewellery box, or individual compartment tray is ideal — this also prevents pieces from scratching each other.

Handle with care

Polymer clay and resin are lightweight and durable, but can chip or crack if dropped on a hard surface. Handle your pieces gently and avoid bending or flexing them.

Cleaning your jewellery

If your piece needs a clean, use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the surface. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cloths, or submerging in water.

About our findings and hardware

Our ear wires, chains, and other findings are silver or gold plated. As with all plated jewellery, hardware will tarnish over time, particularly with exposure to moisture, sweat, and products. Following the care advice above will help slow this process. Our handmade polymer clay charms are extremely durable and will typically outlast the hardware — the good news is that our charms are easy to transfer onto a new chain or findings when needed, so your favourite piece can live on for years to come.

Ear wires and findings

Our ear wires and findings are nickel free as standard. If you require hypoallergenic stainless steel fittings, please contact us before ordering to discuss options and pricing.
